Resident, There are two ongoing projects which may be of interest. We are in the process of developing a quarterly newsletter that would be mailed to every home and business within the city. This is something that is advocated by Mayor Tom Galligan and, I believe, the majority of the City Council. However, all of us are in agreement that the newsletter should be self-supporting, relative to printing and mailing costs. Our hope is that the first edition would be published in April or May of 2009. We are also moving toward a retooling of the city's Web site. The thinking behind this is to provide more information to the public and to do so more quickly. It is our goal that this retooling would begin behind the scenes in January and that an enhanced Web site could be unveiled at least a few weeks in advance of the publication of the newsletter. It is our intention that the newsletter and enhanced Web site will work hand-in-hand to help keep people informed of what is happening in Jeffersonville. Larry Thomas, Communications Director |
