Redevelopment Commission Notice of Adoption and Substance of an Amending Declaratory Resolution

Taxpayers of the Jeffersonville Redevelopment District (“District”), and all other persons affected hereby, are notified that the Jeffersonville Redevelopment Commission (Commission)  on December 22, 1995 adopted a Declaratory Resolution (Original Declaratory Resolution), as supplemented and amended to date, establishing the Inner City Road Economic Development Area (Original Area) and the Original Declaratory Resolution was confirmed by a confirmatory resolution adopted on February 28, 1996 (Confirmatory Resolution). The Original Declaratory Resolution, as amended, and Confirmatory Resolution are hereinafter collectively referred to as the “Area Resolution.” The Area Resolution established an allocation area in accordance with IC 36-7-14-39 (Original Allocation Area) for the purpose of capturing property taxes generated from the incremental assessed value of real property (Tax Increment) located in the Original Allocation Area. the Area Resolution, as amended and supplemented, has enlarged the boundaries of the Original Area (Enlarged Area) and the Original Allocation Area (Enlarged Allocation Area) and amended the Original Plan (Amended Plan). On December 22, 2021, the Commission adopted a resolution (2022 Amending Declaratory Resolution) to: (i) expand the boundaries of the Enlarged Area and the Enlarged Allocation Area (Expansion Area) by adding certain real property; and (ii) to approve the Amended Plan. Maps and plats of the Enlarged Area, the Expansion Area, and the Amended Plan have been prepared and can be inspected at the office of the Department of Economic Development and Redevelopment, City Hall, Suite 257, 500 Quartermaster Court, Jeffersonville, Indiana, Monday through Friday (except holidays) between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 pm.

Notice is further given that the Commission on April 27, 2022, at the hour of 5:00 p.m. (local time), in the Mayor’s Conference Room, 2nd  floor, Jeffersonville City Hall, 500 Quartermaster Court, Jeffersonville, Indiana, will receive and hear remonstrances from persons interested in or affected by the proceedings pertaining to the 2022 Amending Declaratory Resolution and the Amended Plan, including taxpayers of the District. At the time fixed for hearing or at any time prior thereto any person interested in the proceedings may file a written remonstrance with the Secretary of the Commission in the office of the Department of Economic Development and Redevelopment, City Hall, 500 Quartermaster Court, Suite 257, Jeffersonville, Indiana. At such hearing, which may be adjourned from time to time, the Commission will hear all persons interested in the proceedings and all remonstrances that have been filed. After considering this evidence, the Commission will take final action by either confirming, modifying and confirming, or rescinding the Amending Declaratory Resolution. A copy of this notice has been filed with the agencies, boards and any other departments, bodies, or officers of the City of Jeffersonville having to do with planning, variances from zoning ordinances, land use, or the issuance of building permits.
