Jeffersonville Mayor Mike Moore today announced that the 21 small businesses were awarded grants totaling $210,000 to help them recover from the fiscal impact of COVID-19.

The following Jeffersonville businesses were each awarded $10,000:

  • Jersey Mikes
  • The Springs Salon
  • Quality Inn
  • Café 223
  • Days Inn
  • Value Inn
  • Heuser Hardware
  • Steam Boat Museum
  • Slammers
  • Simpson Co
  • Angie’s Café
  • Sweets By Morgan
  • A20
  • Black Rose Elite
  • Jewels Pet salon
  • Tru Bliss
  • Lavender Hill
  • So In media
  • That’s My Dog
  • Orange Clover

The grant program’s objective is to provide assistance s small businesses that employ less than 100 employee can retain jobs in Jeffersonville for low to moderate income wage earners.  The applicants were required to submit an application that was reviewed by a committee to determine whether they met the program’s criteria, which included the amount of lost revenue, closure or reduced business capacity, rental or mortgage expenses and the number of full-time and part-time employees.

“The backbone of our community are those small businesses.  And unfortunately, many of them have been hit hard over the last several months as we’ve been forced to deal with the impacts from COVID-19,” said Moore. “It’s exciting to have a chance to help with these grant dollars so businesses can remain open and continue to pay their employees.”

The program was funded exclusively with dollars from the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs.  Recipients will not be required to repay as long as all guidelines and reporting requirements are met.
