The City of Jeffersonville, working through its Sewer Board, is currently in the design phase of the Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) Interceptor Project in downtown Jeffersonville. This project will make improvements to Jeffersonville’s Combined Sewer System to lessen the magnitude and recurrence of combined sewer overflows into the Ohio River and/or Cane Run. The project will have a one-year design phase which will require surveying and underground exploration. Over the next few months, it is likely that Jeffersonville residents may see surveying equipment and surveyors in the project area, as well as drill rigs for underground investigation. The majority of work for this project should take place inside the existing road right-of-way.
In general, the project area will include Chestnut Street between Graham Street and Pearl Street, and then continue in a northerly direction from Maple Street and Pearl Street toward 9th Street and Indiana Avenue. Please refer to the MAP for the current CSO interceptor alignment.
