Jeffersonville Mayor Mike Moore today joined a group of distinguished business leaders from across the City to launch the Mayoral Business Roundtable, an initiative aimed at identifying strategies that would have a positive impact on the economic development of the City.
“The success of businesses in our community is critical to growing our local economy,” said Mayor Mike Moore. “By creating a business-friendly environment and collaborating, the business roundtable gives us a chance to have a dialogue about making sure Jeffersonville remains competitive.”
The Business Roundtable will meet periodically with Mayor Moore to review the Mayor’s vision of positioning Jeffersonville as a premiere community to do business such as:
- Obtaining private sector input for enhancing and streamlining government processes and procedures.
- Creating the environment that is conducive for entrepreneurship and innovation.
- Developing public-private partnerships to make better use of the City’s assets and improve the quality of services to residents.
- Improving the quality of life for residents to attract new industry.
In addition to discussing these initiatives, Mayor Moore will engage the group in a frank discussion on issues that impact our community and develop strategies to better address those issues.
“Jeffersonville is on the move. It’s an exciting time in our city,” said Moore, who noted that nearly 3,000 new jobs have been created in Jeffersonville in the last 2 ½ years. “Our local business community is contributing our success in job growth and development. It’s important that we continue to work together to keep the momentum going.”
