On the BermThe City of Jeffersonville is pleased to announce the selection of three semi-finalists in the design competition “On the Berm: It All Started with an Idea!”.

A total of 10 artists submitted design concepts in May 2014 as participants in the original “Call for Entries” during Phase 1 of the design competition. The Jeffersonville Public Art Commission reviewed and discussed all submitted design proposals, narrowing down and selecting a total of three semi-finalists who were advanced to participate in Phase 2 of the design competition.

The three semi-finalists were invited to develop sculptural maquettes (scale models) of their designs. Each artist will be awarded a $500 stipend to cover costs associated with their creative project renderings.

During Phase 2 of On the Berm: It All Started with an Idea!, City Canvas will provide opportunities for the public to engage in the final selection of the winner for the design competition.

The three semi-finalists’ scale models will be on display at a Public Arts Mixer on Monday, August 4th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at 300 Spring. Attendees will be invited to cast their vote for their favorite design concept. Additionally, those who cannot be in attendance will have an opportunity to cast their vote online. Stay tuned for more details!
