Mayor Mike Moore along with city and construction leaders celebrated the completion of the Holmans Lane reconstruction project. Widening this 1-mile stretch, from Veterans Parkway to E. 10th Street, has been discussed for decades. The finished product now includes more lanes for cars and bikes, a two-way left-turn lane, and sidewalk and lighting improvements. It also includes updates on Veterans Parkway from the intersection of Woehrle Road to Holmans Lane.“2020 has been a tough year on all of us, but it is important to remember the good things that happened as well,” Mayor Mike Moore said. “Completing Holmans Lane is a project we can all celebrate. We know it hasn’t been easy, but appreciate everyone’s patience.”Traffic signals were also updated at Veterans Parkway and Holmans Lane and a new signal was installed at Holmans Lane and Peach Blossom Drive. This $8-million project was made possible thanks to a grant and redevelopment dollars.“These are dollars collected from all of our new businesses coming to Jeff,” Moore said. “We are all benefiting from the city’s growth.”
