On or about February 26th, 2021 the City of Jeffersonville intends to apply for the Indiana Office of Community Rural Affairs for a grant from the Covid-19 Response Program: Phase 2. Through the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG). This program is federally funded through the State Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Planning Program. This program is funded by the Title I of the federal housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended. These funds are to be used to assist local, small businesses affected by the closures or decrease in business due Covid-19. The funding amount being requested is in the amount of $250,000, the entire amount requested will benefit low to moderate income persons working within local, small businesses that have had their incomes affected by the pandemic. The applicant has also expended an additional $250,000 in non-CDBG funds on the project.  These non-CDBG funds were derived from the following sources: general fund.

The City of Jeffersonville will hold a public hearing on February 10, 2021 at 11:30 am, in Jeffersonville City Hall, Mayor’s Conference Room to provide interested parties an opportunity to express their views on the proposed federally funded CDBG project. Persons with disabilities or non-English speaking persons who wish to attend the public hearing and need assistance should contact DeLynn Rutherford, 500 Quartermaster Court, Jeffersonville, IN 47130 not later than February 1st, 2021. Every effort will be made to make reasonable accommodations for these persons.

Information Related to this project will be available for review prior to the public hearing as of January 29th, 2021 at Jeffersonville City Hall located at 500 Quartermaster Ct., Jeffersonville, IN 47130 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. -4:30 p.m.. Interested Citizens are invited to provide comments regarding these issues either at the public hearing or by prior written statement. Written comments should be submitted to City of Jeffersonville, 500 Quartermaster Court, Jeffersonville, IN 47130. Attn: Grants Department, no later than February 8th, 2021 in order to ensure placement of such comments in the official record of the public hearing proceedings. Citizens wishing to present oral comments in person must notify DeLynn Rutherford at the above address at least 24 hours before the hearing, in order that social distancing accommodations may be made for those in attendance due to COVID-19.  In accordance with Executive Orders from Governor Holcomb, the public hearing will also be available live on the City of Jeffersonville Facebook at which time comments may be submitted on that platform during the public hearing.
