Notice is hereby given to the taxpayers of the City of Jeffersonville and Utica Township Fire Protection District, Clark County, Indiana, that a joint public hearing will be held before the Jeffersonville City Council and the Utica Township Fire Protection District Board on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 4:00 P.M. at the City Council Chambers, City Hall Room 101, 500 Quartermaster Court, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130 to consider a proposed ordinance, resolution, and an interlocal agreement for the establishment of the Jeffersonville – Utica Township Fire Protection Territory beginning with taxes payable in 2026.  Additional joint public hearings of the Jeffersonville City Council and the Utica Township Fire Protection District Board will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at the City Council Chambers, City Hall Room 101, 500 Quartermaster Court, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130, at 5:00 P.M. and on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at the City Council Chambers, City Hall Room 101, 500 Quartermaster Court, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130 at 4:00 P.M. After the third and final public hearing, the Jeffersonville City Council and the Utica Township Fire Protection District Board will meet on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 4:00 P.M. at the City Council Chambers, City Hall Room 101, 500 Quartermaster Court, Jeffersonville, Indiana 47130, to vote to either adopt, reject, or table the ordinance, resolution, and interlocal agreement for the establishment of the Jeffersonville – Utica Township Fire Protection Territory.  If enacted, the ordinance, resolution, and interlocal agreement will establish the Jeffersonville – Utica Township Fire Protection Territory between the City of Jeffersonville (Provider Unit) and Utica Township Fire Protection District  (Participating Unit) and will provide for a uniform tax rate within the territory.
