The City of Jeffersonville is preparing for dredging operations at Duffy’s Landing. Dredging is the process of removing built-up sediment from the river bottom to help maintain safe and reliable water depth for boaters using the ramp and surrounding areas.

Under Indiana law, dredging is not permitted from April 1 through June 30. The City will begin the dredging process as soon as possible. Bids for the project are due by June 30, with the Board of Public Works expected to award the contract at its July 1 meeting.

Please note that access to dock slips at Duffy’s Landing is currently limited due to recent flooding. River conditions can also result in reduced depth near the ramp, and boaters are encouraged to use caution when loading and unloading. Seasonal repairs to the dock slips are also in the works.

Dredging schedules and regulations vary by state, including differences between Indiana and Kentucky law.

We appreciate your understanding as we complete seasonal maintenance to support continued access at Duffy’s Landing.
