If this is the first time you are applying using our online job application, you will need to build and save a profile. This profile will be used to filter information to the application each time you apply for a position eliminating the need to recreate the same information for a different job. After your application has been submitted, you will receive an e-mail confirming receipt. Qualified applicants who apply for a POSTED OPENING will have his/her application directly forwarded to the appropriate hiring department for review. GENERAL APPLICATIONS will be saved and kept on file by the Human Resource (HR) department. Applicants must call HR and make a request to forward a general application to a specific position when an opening occurs or complete a new application.
Due to the sheer volume of applications received, you will only be contacted by the hiring department if further information is needed or if they wish to proceed with an interview.
The City of Jeffersonville accepts applications for Firefighters and Police Officers on a rotating basis alternating every two years. Positions are filled from a certified list until such time. A separate application is required for these positions and will be posted on the City’s website when the applicant process is opened. Applications are not accepted for firefighter or police officer positions outside of the posting period and are not kept on file.
Applications for City positions should be made solely through the City of Jeffersonville’s website and no other external sites. A computer is available in Human Resource for applicants who do not have access to a computer.
