Mayor Mike Moore unveiled the City of Jeffersonville’s newest street, Coop Way.
Coop Way now stands in honor of beloved city employee Charles Ronald Cooper or “Coop” as everyone knew him. He tragically passed away last month. Coop worked for both the street and sanitation departments for 38 years and never knew a stranger.
“We all lost a really good friend,” Mayor Moore said. “He was one of the easiest people to talk to. Whenever he entered a room, everyone would yell out ‘Coop!’ He will be missed.”
The City hopes this street will bring a smile to his family, friends and colleagues during a difficult time. You can find Coop Way near the Street Department off of Renfroe Way.
